I would suggest NOT using BB's to learn how to aim. But you need to practice the correct way. OP, I would suggest practice, practice, and more practice. Avoid the temptation to get close to a target in the case of destroyers and cruisers even if it makes them easier to hit, there's too much risk of torpedoes. Look to engage at 50-75% of your maximum range. The time for a shot to travel plus the random factor would make even an aimbot struggle to hit a target. Japanese battleships are more tuned to arm's length engagements than American ones, which have shorter range overall but better armor. With most Japanese battleships, you can't reliably engage at maximum range, but you do have the speed to help control the distance to a target. Glancing at the mini-map can help see exactly which way a ship is pointing, to better judge the lead, which can sometimes be hard to do simply looking at a ship. Try not to shoot at a target that is in the middle of a sharp turn, it will be difficult to know whether the ship will straighten or continue to turn at any given moment. There are some video tutorials on Youtube that try to explain things, but it takes practice to be able to do it on the fly. Even a perfectly aimed salvo can miss purely because the roll of the dice said so. Sadly, accuracy is not a battleship's strongsuit. I was afraid to ask, as the last time I did that in-game, I was harassed. I have used the alt key, but don't really know what the numbers mean. I also have trouble hitting up close, as well. Someone told me that BBs are best as snipers, but I just can't hit anything. My issue is that I have trouble hitting ships at all. I have been playing for a few weeks now and have been going using IJN ships, namely BBs.
